TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 23. Retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan reached 125,690.7 billion soums ($11.2 billion) from January through April 2025, marking a 9.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's National Statistics Committee indicates that large enterprises accounted for 17.9 percent of the total turnover, with their growth rate rising by 12.2 percent. Retail turnover from small businesses saw a more moderate increase of 8.0 percent, with small businesses contributing 71.6 percent of the total retail sales.
Unorganized trade also played a significant role, with sales in this sector amounting to 13.2 billion soums ($1.2 billion), representing 10.5 percent of the total retail turnover.
These figures indicate a positive trend in Uzbekistan's retail sector, driven by both large and small businesses, as well as a notable contribution from unorganized trade.
