BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. As many as 2.53 million tons of cargo worth $5.32 billion were transported by motor vehicles in Azerbaijan from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that this
metric experienced an uptick of $409.5 million, translating to an
8.3 percent appreciation in monetary value, alongside an increase
of 202,000 tons, equating to an 8.7 percent escalation in
volumetric terms, on a year-over-year basis.
In the designated reporting timeframe, Azerbaijan achieved a
remarkable export volume of 1.03 million tons of cargo, translating
to a monetary value of $959 million via motor vehicle logistics.
This reflects a substantial increment of $196 million, equating to
a 25.6 percent escalation in value, alongside an uptick of 164,000
tons, or an 18.8 percent increase in volume, juxtaposed against the
corresponding period in 2024.
In the interim, the nation facilitated the importation of 1.50
million metric tons of freight valued at $4.36 billion via
terrestrial transport during the specified timeframe, reflecting an
uptick of $220 million, equating to a 5.2 percent escalation in
monetary terms, alongside an augmentation of 38,000 metric tons,
representing a 2.6 percent increase in volumetric throughput,
relative to the corresponding quintet of months from the preceding
year.
