BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. One year has passed since the commissioning of the Zangilan tanker, built at the Baku Shipyard by order of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC (ASCO), operating within the Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding (AZCON), a source in ASCO told Trend.
In the first year of its operation, the tanker made 39 voyages on the Alaca-Sangachal route. A total of 266,654 tons of cargo were transported by the ship during these voyages.
The length of the Zangilan tanker is 141, the width is 16.9, and the height of the side is six meters. Six cargo tanks with a total capacity of 9,212 cubic meters, 7,875 tons of deadweight, 10 knots of speed, and high standards following international requirements make this ship a technically advanced example.
The tanker is designed for the transportation of both oil and chemical products. Its water draft, even at maximum load, fully allows it to enter shallow ports in the Caspian basin and operate in waters outside the Caspian Sea.
Meanwhile, it was commissioned on July 2 last year with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
