ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 5. Turkmenistan has approved its participation in the second phase of the Integrated Trade Agenda under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, Trend reports via the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov endorsed the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) proposal for the country to join the regional initiative, which will be implemented through 2030. The decision was announced following a report delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov during a government meeting.
The key objectives of the program include boosting intra-regional trade, advancing digital trade infrastructure, and promoting environmentally sustainable trade practices. Turkmenistan will take part in two key components: "Trade Policy" and "Trade Facilitation."
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take all necessary steps to ensure Turkmenistan’s active participation in the project.
