TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 8. JSC National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan signed a contract with the Chinese company Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group Co., Ltd. for the design, supply, and installation (EPC) of the 220 kV substations Zafar and Faiziobod, located in Tashkent, Trend reports.
The primary objective of the initiative is to enhance the operational efficiency of these substations through the adoption of cutting-edge gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) systems, leveraging sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) as the insulating medium.
The project is expected to deliver the following key
benefits:
• Minimization of human error;
• Reduction of negative impacts from external climatic
conditions;
• Enhancement of operational and technical personnel safety;
• Ensuring reliable operation of the substations;
• Decrease in environmental impact;
• Creation of a modern and aesthetic appearance for the
substations;
• Optimization of operational activities;
• Use of state-of-the-art equipment based on advanced
technologies.
The execution of this initiative will facilitate the enhancement
and consistent functionality of Uzbekistan's energy
infrastructure.
In the interim, the bilateral trade throughput between Uzbekistan
and China has surpassed the $13 billion threshold in the preceding
fiscal cycle, with both sovereign entities articulating robust
optimism regarding the attainment of the aspirational $20 billion
benchmark established by their respective governance
structures.
