BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector expanded by 4 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting stable development in line with regional dynamics.
Data obtained by Trend from the CAREC Institute's latest Quarterly Economic Monitor shows that while growth across most CAREC economies moderated compared to the final quarter of 2024, Turkmenistan maintained a solid pace of expansion in agriculture, supporting the country’s broader economic outlook.
In regional comparison, Mongolia experienced a sharp rebound in agricultural production following weather-related losses in 2024, while countries such as Pakistan, Uzbekistan and China recorded more moderate but positive growth. The report shows that, overall, agriculture across the region continued to contribute positively to GDP, albeit at varied rates.
Turkmenistan’s stable agricultural performance, alongside developments in energy and investment, is expected to underpin the country’s steady economic growth trajectory through 2025 and 2026. The report data proves that diversification in production and regional cooperation could further strengthen resilience in the years ahead.
