Uzbekistan increased its edible alcohol production by 7.7 per cent to 4.759 million dal in January-September 2013 compared to the same period of 2013, a source in Uzbekistan government circles told Trend.
According to the source, since early 2013, the production of vodka and liquor increased six per cent to 9.585 million dal, cognac production by 8.7 per cent (81,100 dal), champagne by 0.4 per cent to 57,800 dal and beer by three per cent (17.101 million dal).
Wine production decreased by two per cent to 1,652 dal in January-September.
According to official statistics, Uzbekistan increased its ethyl alcohol production by 10.7 per cent to 6.038 million dal in 2012 compared to 2011, vodka and liquor by 7.3 per cent (12.534 million dal), cognac by 11.4 per cent to 106,800 dal, grape wine by 10.5 per cent to 2.342 million dal and champagne by 5.7 per cent to 127,500 dal. Beer production decreased by 20.6 per cent and amounted to 18.44 million dal in 2012.
