Turkey has put up the coal mine in Karlova district of the province of Bingol for privatization, Turkey's Resmi Gazete reported on Monday.
The obligatory condition of privatization is construction of the thermal power plant (TPP) in the coal mine after privatization. It is expected that an international tender for privatization will be held on May 30, 2013.
The report states that payment for the purchase of a package of tender conditions totals 2,000 lira, and the starting tender price is set at 3 million lira.
Earlier, Turkey has announced its intention to put up for privatization the Kangal thermal power plant, located in the province of Sivas.
As part of the privatization, the license will be granted for the use of TPP's movable and immovable property, including the mines.
In December 2012, the privatization of Turkey's largest thermal power plant Seyitomer in the province of Kutahya was completed. Turkish company Çelikler İnşaat was the tender winner. The cost of the deal amounted to $ 2.2 billion.
Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said that a record number of transactions in the privatization of state enterprises is expected in Turkey in 2012.
In particular, a number of production facilities of the country's hydro and thermal power plants will be offered for privatization in 2013.
