The Marketing and Economic Operations Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported over 3.3 million metric tons of oil from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in January-February 2015 compared to 2.99 million metric tons in the same period of 2014, SOCAR said March 3.
SOCAR exported 1.6 million metric tons of oil from Ceyhan in February compared to 1.4 million metric tons in February 2014, SOCAR said.
SOCAR exported over 20.48 million metric tons of oil from Ceyhan in 2014 compared to 19.75 million metric tons in 2013, SOCAR said.
Oil is supplied to the Ceyhan port through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.
The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443 kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249 kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076 kilometer section in Turkey.
The construction of the pipeline started in April 2003. It was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.
BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), as well as Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
