Iran will start exporting oil from the Jask oil terminal as of the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said, Trend reports citing Shana news agency.
He made the remark today on May 17 after the signing ceremony of a contract on the development of the Farzad B gas field.
Zanganeh noted that the laying of the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline has been completed and crude oil will be pumped into the pipeline in the coming days.
The minister added that a contract has been signed with local companies on the development of the Iran-Saudi Arabia joint Farzad B gas field. However, according to the contract, foreign companies can enter into this contract if they are interested.
“Furthermore, a contract on the development of the Azadegan oil field will be signed with local companies in the near future,” he said.
As reported, the Farzad B gas field is one of the joint fields between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
On May 17, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the Petropars Operation and Management Company (POMC) signed a contract on the development of the Farzad B gas field.
According to the contract, $1.78 billion will be spent in order to extract 28 million cubic meters of sour gas daily.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
It is planned to install 6 submarine pipelines, crude oil metering systems and 3 floating systems (SPM) at the Jask oil terminal in Iran. At the first stage, 1 metering system, two 36-inch pipelines and one floating system will be put into operation for the extraordinary operation of this terminal.
