Iran will be able to extract oil for the next 108 years if crude oil extraction continues at current levels and there are no changes in proven reserves, as was reflected in the report of Iranian Parliament's Research Center, Trend reports.
According to the report, Iran's crude oil, gas and gas condensate reserves amounted to 245.7 billion barrels 4 years ago (March 21, 2017, through March 20, 2018).
The figure rose to about 246 billion barrels 3 years ago (March 21, 2018, through March 20, 2019).

In order to maintain its position in international markets, Iran must focus on exploration operations in Alborz, Lorestan and Ardabil provinces in the coming years.
Iranian oil-gas experts estimate that Iran has large oil and gas reserves both in the north and south parts. The Iranian Oil Ministry must continue its activities in this regard.
According to the statistics of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Iran has extracted 2.5 million barrels of crude oil in September. This is 22,000 barrels more than in August.
