BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. Italian energy infrastructure company Snam maintained a robust pace of investment during the first nine months of 2025, with total investments reaching 1.767 billion euros, broadly in line with the 1.782 billion euros recorded in the same period of 2024, Trend reports via the company.
Technical investments amounted to 1.755 billion euros, primarily directed towards the company’s core businesses: transport (1.215 billion euros versus 1.220 billion euros in 2024), storage (180 million euros versus 160 million euros), and regasification (185 million euros versus 293 million euros).
Investments in energy transition projects rose significantly to 154 million euros, up 66 million euros from the same period in 2024. The increase was largely driven by Snam’s ongoing conversion of biogas plants to biomethane production, reflecting the company’s growing focus on sustainable energy solutions.
Net financial expenses for the reporting period totalled 246 million euros, an increase of 16 million euros compared to the same period in 2024. The rise was attributed to a higher average level of debt, with the average net cost of debt standing at approximately 2.6%, remaining broadly consistent year on year. The company also reported lower income from late interest payments related to the default service.
Snam noted that this result was achieved through continued optimization of funding sources, proactive treasury management, and increased capitalised financial expenses, demonstrating disciplined financial oversight amid ongoing investment in strategic infrastructure and the energy transition.
