The total volume of deposits in operating 15 commercial banks of Georgia is 26.28 billion lari as of August 31, 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Deposit Insurance Agency of Georgia.
According to the agency, the deposits of individuals stand at 14.25 billion lari (in national currency – 3.57 billion lari); legal entities – 12.02 billion lari (in national currency – 5.85 billion lari).
In addition, according to the agency, the volume of insured deposits under the current deposit insurance system in Georgia is 1.81 billion lari, including: 1.11 billion lari of insured deposits in national currency; in foreign currency – 694.47 million lari equivalent.
The total amount of regular insurance premiums paid by commercial banks to the Deposit Insurance Fund in August amounted to 1.44 billion lari.
