ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 28. Kazakhstan's KMG PetroChem LLP is working on the implementation of large petrochemical projects: the construction of a gas separation complex, an ethane pipeline and a polyethylene production plant, Trend reports.
Prospective projects for the production of terephthalic acid and polyethylene terephthalate (TPA/PET) and urea are also being considered.
The gas separation complex will be the first Kazakh project with such a processing capacity - 9.1 billion cubic meters of dry gas per year.
Thanks to this, Kazakhstan will begin to extract ethane for the first time and use it to produce polyethylene in a volume of up to 1.6 million tons per year, instead of burning it.
In turn, the ethane pipeline will allow transporting ethane from the gas separation complex to the future polyethylene production plant. The design capacity of the ethane pipeline will be 1.25 million tons per year.
KMG PetroChem LLP is a 100 percent subsidiary of the national oil and gas company of Kazakhstan, KazMunayGas JSC.
KMG PetroChem implements and coordinates projects in the field of petrochemicals in the KMG group.
