Russian region reveals volume of grain exports to Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 6. The volume of grain exports from Russia's Krasnoyarsk region to Kazakhstan amounted to 7,100 tons in January 2024, Trend reports.

According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), at the same time, 1,000 tons of rapeseed were exported to Kazakhstan.

In general, in January 2024, 52,700 tons of grain, processed products, and oilseeds were exported from the Krasnoyarsk region, while in the first month of 2023, this figure was 33,000 tons. The main share of exports falls on wheat (27,900 tons), rapeseed (12,200 tons), and barley (4,900 tons).

In addition, the largest export for the above period was to China. Thus, in January, 12,200 tons of grain, 6,400 tons of rapeseed, 800 tons of flax seeds, and 400 tons of peas were exported from Krasnoyarsk to China.

Moreover, 15,300 tons of grain were exported to Mongolia, 4,800 tons of rapeseed to Belarus, and 900 tons of grain to Kyrgyzstan.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Russia amounted to $23.5 billion from January through November 2023. The volume of trade turnover decreased by 3.27 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($24.3 billion).

At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to Russia for the above period amounted to $8.9 billion, which is 10.2 percent more than from January through November 2022 ($8.09 billion).

In addition, imports from Russia from January through November 2023 decreased by 10 percent and amounted to $14.6 billion. For the 11 months of 2022, imports amounted to $16.2 billion.
