ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 26. Kazakhstan Railways JSC carried out 582 shipments of grain cars from January through August 2024, Trend reports.
According to the information, 551 of them were shipped for export. The main markets are Central Asian countries, as well as Afghanistan, Iran, and China.
However, grain exports to China have grown 5.7 times over the past three years.
Kazakhstan's Railways successfully transported 5.4 million tons of grain over eight months. Of this volume, 4.2 million tons were exported.
Furthermore, 2.3 million tons of milling products were transported via the railway network, which is 17.4 percent more than in the same period last year. Of this volume, 1.8 million tons were also shipped for export, an increase of 20 percent.
