BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 26. A Chinese company will work on the exploration and development of oil and gas fields in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

A corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed between Kyrgyzneftegaz, the leading oil and gas company in Kyrgyzstan, and the Chinese Xibu Drilling Engineering Company.

According to Kyrgyzneftegaz, the parties also agreed to jointly carry out major repairs, hydraulic fracturing (fracking), acid treatment of wells, and other activities to intensify oil production from old wells. Additionally, there are plans to drill deep wells exceeding 4,000 meters in depth.

To note, the Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzneftegaz, Nurgazy Nishanov, visited Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China on a working visit.

Kyrgyzneftegaz is actively involved in extracting oil and gas in the Jalal-Abad and Batken regions of Kyrgyzstan. The company is also working on developing other oil and gas fields that have already been discovered and is conducting geological surveys to find new resources. The aim is to enhance its resource base and increase the volume of hydrocarbons it produces.

Kyrgyzneftegaz is considered the only enterprise that carries out all stages, from exploration and production to the sale of oil and gas to customers in Kyrgyzstan.
