Tajikistan tallies grape harvest volume in country's Tursunzoda city

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 28. The total grape harvest volume in Tajikistan's Tursunzoda city as of mid-October 2024 was 26,320 tons, including 11,000 tons exported abroad.

Data obtained by Trend from the country’s statistical agency shows that currently, 5,800 tons of grapes are stored in the warehouses of Tursunzoda. The agro-industrial city has 78 refrigerated warehouses with a total capacity of over 24,000 tons.

Additionally, Tursunzoda has more than 4,100 hectares of vineyards.

Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan indicates that as of October 4, the country has harvested 340,941 tons of fruit, including 92,538 tons of grapes.

The total area of orchards and vineyards in the country is 206,535 hectares, of which 39,922 hectares are vineyards.

To note, the overall agricultural production volume in Tajikistan from January through September 2024 reached 52.28 billion somoni ($4.8 billion), which is an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the same period last year in comparable prices.
