TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 1. Russia found itself at the top of the heap as the biggest buyer of Uzbek grapes, hauling in a whopping 4,314 tons in January 2025.

According to the data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency, following in Russia's footsteps, Uzbekistan's grapes found their way to Kazakhstan, racking up 818.7 tons, while Belarus and Kyrgyzstan also got a taste, with 289.8 tons and 202.7 tons, respectively. Alongside these countries, a handful of other nations collectively brought in 41 tons of Uzbek grapes to the table.

Thus, in January 2025, Uzbekistan achieved a remarkable export volume of 5,666 metric tons, generating a substantial revenue stream of $3.86 million in foreign exchange.

In general, Uzbekistan exported 94,100 tons of fruit and vegetable products in January 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, this figure decreased by 35.5 percent, or 51,900 tons.

The export throughput of horticultural commodities during the specified timeframe reached $81.7 million, reflecting a growth trajectory of 8.6 percent relative to the corresponding timeframe in 2024. This constitutes 6.2 percent of the aggregate export throughput.
