Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the West and Islam have had many heavy encounters during the last several centuries, ISNA reported on Sep.9.
Khamenei, during a meeting with clerics, said that this confrontation has been ongoing and continues today.
"If there is not a powerful authority and the West finds a venerable point, they will never pity anyone, such as with the killing of millions of people during World War II and of Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis. The West never feels sorry for its victims," he said.
