BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4. Iran's petrochemical production totaled 24.2 million tons during the four months (from September 22 through December 20, 2024) since the current Iranian government came to power, the report of the National Petrochemical Industries Company of Iran reads, Trend reports.
On this account, the export of Iran's petrochemical products reached 13.4 million tons worth $5.8 billion over the four months.

Currently, there are 72 operational petrochemical facilities in
Iran. The capacity for petrochemical output stands at 96 million
tons annually.
In the upcoming 5 years, the country is set to launch 61
petrochemical enterprises, with an investment totaling $24 billion.
The output capacity of these entities is projected to reach 35
million tons annually.
To note, over the next ten years, Iran has set a goal to increase the production of petrochemical products to 186 million tons.
