BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14.​ Iran's aluminum production has decreased over the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), with the country's four major aluminum companies producing 4.9 percent less compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).

Data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) indicates that these companies produced 604,526 tons of aluminum ingots during the reporting period. This is down from 635,596 tons produced in the previous year.

The production breakdown shows that South Aluminum Corporation produced 243,705 tons, Iran Aluminum Company (IRALCO) 175,119 tons, Almahdi Aluminum Company 152,478 tons, and Iran Alumina Company 33,224 tons.

In addition, Iran Alumina Company also reported a 4 percent increase in alumina powder (aluminum oxide) production, with a total of 232,011 tons produced.

Furthermore, Iran Alumina Company’s bauxite production (the raw material for alumina powder) rose by 4 percent, reaching 725,335 tons.

The company also reported a 21 percent increase in aluminum hydroxide production, with 390,887 tons produced.

Iran's annual aluminum ingot production capacity is estimated at around 700,000 tons.
