Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian has proposed creation of regional water, energy and environment hub.
Addressing a conference on energy in Tehran, Hamid Chitchian said that future measures should not only concern energy and air but water and soil and habitat as well, Trend's correspondent reported from the event.
The minister said that Iran eyes to cut down the output of greenhouse gases by 2020, through domestic and foreign funding.
Saying that power output currently stands at 74000 megawatt (MW), the minster announced that the country's output is projected to increase by 50,000 MW within the next 10 years.
Currently, 10000 MW F-class turbines are being made to help increase the efficiency to 58 percent, the minister said.
Chitchian said that three years ago liquid fuel made up 40 percent of power plant intake in the country, while currently it is below 20 percent.
Speaking about Iran's capability in power production, he further said that over the past two years power loss in the country reduced from 15 to 11 percent.
