Iran and China have signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) to boost their strategic cooperation in nanotechnology, ISNA reported on July 11.
After signing the deal, the two sides also launched the second branch of Iran Nanotech China Center (INCC) in the city of Guangzhou.
The second branch has been set up with the aim of promoting ties between Tehran and Beijing in the field of nanotechnology. The first branch of the INCC was set up by INIC and Nanopolis Suzhou company in Suzhou on May 12, 2015.
The center also aims to boost cooperation between Iranian and Chinese nano companies, according to the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) public relations office.
A number of Iranian and Chinese officials, including INCC Director Saeid Sarkar, Iran’s counsel in Guangzhou Khalil Shirgholami and the director of SME Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality Huadong Ye were present at the opening ceremony of the center.
Addressing the event, Ye said the establishment of INCC Guangzhou Office is expected to impel the development of new materials and the construction of international technology & innovation hub in Guangzhou, as a strategic move to strengthen the partnership between the two sides.
The Guangzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone, as the core industrial base station of new materials in China, encompasses more than 400 enterprises in the sector, forming up a strong and inter-connected cluster covering polymer, metal and IT materials.
