Iranian government’s total revenues stood at 1,675.7 trillion rials during the last fiscal year, which ended March 20 (1 USD = 38,000 rials at the time).
Meanwhile, over 1,741 trillion rials of revenues were envisaged in the national budget for the mentioned period, which means that the government revenues were not fully materialized, according to the central bank of Iran (CBI).
Total revenues of the Iranian government registered a rise by 14.7 percent during the 12-month period year-on-year, and materialized by 96 percent.
The government’s overall revenues amounted to 1,460.7 trillion rials in preceding fiscal year (March 20, 2016-2017), 30 percent more year-on-year.
Iran’s tax revenues amounted to 1,158.4 trillion rials in the last fiscal year, registering a growth by 14 percent compared to the preceding year.
The CBI data indicates that the government spending has increased by 17.2 percent during the 12-month period of the last fiscal year.
Based on the data, the government spending amounted to 2,429.4 trillion rials in the period, meanwhile the budget envisaged 2,538.2 trillion rials of spending for the government for the last fiscal year.
So Iran experienced a negative operating budgetary balance by 753.7 trillion rials, 23.2 percent more compared to the preceding year, when the figure was -611.7 trillion rials.
