Hamidreza Araqi, the head of National Iranian Gas Company, said that more than 2,300 projects will come on stream.
Some 26-billion-rials gas projects (at least 2,300 projects) will be inaugurated by the National Iranian Gas Compnay, Araqi said, Shana news agency reported.
Each USD makes 42,000 rials based on the official rate.
With the implementation of the projects, 15 cities and 1,900 villages across the courtiers will be added to the country’s national gas grid, he added.
“160,000 households will be provided with natural gas,” he said.
The senior official further said that 350 more gas projects would be unveiled during the week as well.
The projects include the inauguration of Sarbishe-Nehbandan gas transmission Pipeline in South Khorasan province, phases 1 and 2 of Simakan gas projects in Fars province, gas projects in Nain and Khashan in Isfahan province, a gas project in the port city of Siraf, and several projects at South Pars gas field, Araqi further said.
South Pars is the world's largest gas field shared between Iran and Qatar, covering an area of 3,700 square kilometers of Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.
The country is expanding gas supply infrastructure, as it looks to raise daily gas production to 1.2 billion cubic meters by 2021 from the present 880 million cubic meters.
