BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. A total of 7.23 trillion rials (about $12.7 million) will be spent on development plans at the Bushehr port in southern Iran's Bushehr Province, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Bushehr Province Mohammad Shakibinasab told reporters, Trend reports.
Shakibinasab said that work is expected to begin in May under a number of plans at the Bushehr port, and the work will be carried out under three plans to repair warehouses with a total cost of two trillion rials (about $3.5 million).
The official pointed out that platforms 8-13 will be repaired at a total cost of 1.53 trillion rials (about $2.68 million), and the channels through which ships approach the port will be cleaned at a total cost of 3.7 trillion rials (about $6.49 million).
He articulated that the comprehensive strategies are projected
to reach full operational status within a fiscal year.
It is pertinent to highlight that the throughput capacity of
Bushehr port is quantified at eight million tons annually. The
strategic initiative aims to augment the throughput of this
maritime facility to 15 million tons in the imminent horizon.
