The Minister for Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia David Darakhvelidze held a meeting with a delegation from the Secretariat of the Council of Europe to prepare another consolidated report of the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe.

Delegation members asked about the general condition of refugees, government's plans, vision for conflict resolution and other issues related to internally displaced persons.
In turn, Darakhvelidze briefed the delegation on the basic needs of refugees.

"In its latest resolution, the Council of Europe reiterated the right of refugees to return to their homes. We see only peaceful means of achieving this goal. Existing human resources are the most important resources in terms of conflict resolution and peaceful coexistence," he said.
Among the most urgent problems of refugees, the minister called housing, employment, access to health care, education, and social problems. He noted that prior to return to their homes, they should obtain decent living conditions.

CoE Secretariat delegation visits Georgia twice a year to prepare a report.
