BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure reports that from January through October 2024, Egypt transported 10.1 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

According to the ministry, during this time, Turkish-flagged vessels transported 1.8 tons of cargo from Egypt to Turkish ports.

In the period from January to October of this year, vessels flying the flags of other states transported about 8.1 million tons of cargo from Egypt to Türkiye, according to the ministry's statement.

During this period, Egyptian-flagged vessels transported 111,506 tons of cargo from Egypt to Türkiye, according to the ministry.

Between January and October 2024, Egypt transported 375,177 tons of transit cargo to the ports of Türkiye.

Turkish ports handled 30.6 million tons of cargo in October 2024.

The cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.4 million tons during this period.

“Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30.1 million tons,” the statement of the ministry reads.

Additionally, Turkish ports transported 5.7 million tons of transit cargo in October 2024.

According to the ministry, from January through October 2024, Türkiye's ports handled 331.3 million tons of cargo.

“The cargo reception by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 25.9 million tons. Meanwhile, by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye totaled 306.2 million tons,” the statement says.

According to the information, the ports of Türkiye transported 57.6 million tons of transit cargo from January through October 2024.

Türkiye's ports received 5,396 vessels in October of this year.

Based on the information, during this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,451, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 945,000.

Moreover, the ports of Türkiye accepted 51,713 vessels in the period from January through October 2024.

“The number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports during this period reached 33,584, and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 18,129," the information notes.
