BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Azerbaijan's state budget revealed a surplus from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
The data released by Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee
showed that the budget revenues in the reporting period reached an
impressive 16 billion manat ($9.4 billion), marking a significant
14.6 percent growth compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, the budget expenses totaled 13.47 billion manat ($7.9
billion), which is 20.9 percent higher than the figure for the same
period in 2023.
Thus, by the end of May 2024, the state budget had a surplus of 2.5
billion manat ($1.47 billion).
During the aforementioned time, Azerbaijan's nominal GDP was 48
billion manat ($28 billion).

To sum up, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues increased by 16 percent in 2023, reaching 35.5 billion manat ($20.8 billion). State budget expenditures reached 36.4 billion manat ($21.3 billion), which is 13.7 percent higher than in 2022, and at the end of December 2023, the state budget had a deficit of 883.7 million manat ($519.5 million).
