BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26. Direct foreign investments from France into Azerbaijan's economy reached $121.9 million in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure represents a substantial increase of $117 million, or more than 25 times, compared to 2023.
France accounted for 1.7 percent of the total direct foreign investments flowing into Azerbaijan in the reporting period.
In turn, Azerbaijan invested $19.2 million in France's economy, marking a decrease of $479,000 USD, or 2.4 percent, compared to the previous year.
Azerbaijan's investments in France accounted for 1.1 percent of the total volume of direct foreign investments made by Azerbaijan.
It is worth noting that in 2023, direct foreign investments from France to Azerbaijan amounted to $4.9 million, while investments from Azerbaijan to France reached $19.7 million.
In 2024, direct foreign investments in Azerbaijan's economy surpassed $7 billion, reflecting an increase of $388.1 million, or 5.83 percent, compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, the total volume of direct foreign investments directed from Azerbaijan to foreign economies in the reporting year was $1.8 billion, marking a decrease of $1.4 billion, or 43.3 percent, compared to the previous year.
