ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 11. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has announced a list of new international air routes planned for 2025, Trend reports.

The Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan is continuously working on expanding the country’s network of international air routes.

“SCAT Airlines plans to launch several new routes from Shymkent Airport starting May 27, including: Shymkent – Budapest (Hungary), 2 flights per week; Shymkent – Munich (Germany), 3 flights; starting May 28: Shymkent – Xi'an (China), 2 flights; starting May 29: Shymkent – Cairo (Egypt), 2 flights; Shymkent – Shanghai (China), 2 flights; Shymkent – Seoul (South Korea), 2 flights; and from May 30: Shymkent – Urumqi (China), 2 flights,” the Ministry of Kazakhstan’s Transport informed.

Air Astana is also planning to introduce several new international routes, including:

Opened March 30: Almaty – Guangzhou (China), 3 flights; Almaty – Nha Trang (Vietnam), 2 flights;

Opened March 31: Astana – Nha Trang (Vietnam), 2 flights;

“Planned routes by Air Astana: from April 20: Almaty – Mumbai (India), 3 flights; from May 14: Astana – Da Nang (Vietnam), 2 flights; from May 27: Atyrau – Tbilisi (Georgia), 3 flights; from May 28: Almaty – Osh (Kyrgyzstan), 4 flights; from May 31: Atyrau – Baku (Azerbaijan), 3 flights; from June 1: Almaty – Frankfurt (Germany), 3 flights; from June 4: Almaty – Da Nang (Vietnam), 2 flights,” the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan stated.

According to the Ministry, Qazaq Air will start a new route between Astana, Turkestan, and Samarkand from May 1, operating 2 flights per week. Fly Arystan has also announced plans for new routes:

From May 18: Almaty – Yining (Kuldja), 2 flights;

From June 4: Karaganda – Istanbul (Türkiye), 2 flights.

Additionally, several international airlines are introducing new routes to Kazakhstan, including:

Eastar Jet (South Korea): from April 7, the Seoul–Almaty route, 2 flights; and from the spring-summer season this year, the Busan–Almaty route, 2 flights.TWay (South Korea): from the spring-summer season this year, the Seoul – Astana route, 2 flights.
SpiceJet (India): from the spring-summer season this year, the Delhi – Almaty route, 4 flights.
Air Cairo (Egypt): from April 3, the Sharm el-Sheikh – Kostanay route, 1 flight; from April 13, Hurghada – Almaty, 2 flights.

Thai Air Asia X (Thailand): starting in the 2025–2026 fall-spring season, flights from Bangkok and Phuket to Almaty.

“The expansion of these air routes is expected to enhance passenger choice, increase competition in the air transport sector, and potentially reduce flight costs while improving service quality,” the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan added.

Currently, Kazakhstan maintains international air connections with 28 countries, operating 121 air routes with 660 flights per week.
