BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. The construction of Iran's Sarakh railway terminal, located on the North-South and East-West International Corridors, has been completed by 60 percent, Director General of Iran's Khorasan Railway Administration Mustafa Nasiri Warag said, Trend reports.
According to him, increasing the transportation of container cargo within the North-South and East-West Corridors is the focus of attention in Iran. Cargo can be transported from China and Central Asian countries to ports in southern Iran and to the Turkish border by rail. The focus is on transporting cargo from China to Iran by rail and sending cargo to various destinations through the Sarakhs terminal.
Warag added that these corridors can also positively affect Iran's export and import of products.
To note, the Sarakh railway and road customs-border crossing is located in the Razavi Khorasan Province in northeastern Iran, on the border with Turkmenistan. This border crossing is considered one of the important points in Iran's foreign trade and cargo transportation with Central Asian countries.
