Total volume of cars manufacturing in Kazakhstan amounted to 28,611 vehicles worth 197.85 billion tenge, which is 46.9 percent more in volume and 68 percent more in value, Trend reports with reference to the press office of The Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business (AKAB).
“The mechanical engineering continues to be the prioritized area of industrial and innovative development of the country and the input of the auto industry into the structure annually increases and currently it exceeds 26 percent. According to our estimates, the cars market will increase to 78,000 units of passenger and commercial vehicles,” the Vice President of AKAB Anar Makasheva said.
According to the statistics of the association, 25,586 passenger cars were manufactured in Kazakhstan in first eight months of 2019 (increase of 40.5 percent), including 1,658 trucks (increase of 142.4 percent), 780 buses (increase by 3.6 times), 540 trailers and semi-trailers (increase of 90.8 percent) and 47 vehicles of other specialized machinery.
During the reporting period, the largest increase of manufacturing is displayed by Saryarkaautoprom, which has doubled its manufacturing. Some 13,092 passenger cars, cargo cars and buses worth 100.307 billion tenge were manufactured by the plant. The Asia Auto plant assembled 13,107 vehicles (increase of 14 percent) worth 69.185 billion tenge.
Furthermore, cars of the local manufacturing accounted for 60 percent of sold cars, which is over 26,000 vehicles. Nine of the ten most purchased cars were manufactured in Kazakhstan.
