The Bank Maskan of Iran has so far paid a total of 67.4 trillion rials (about $1.6 billion) to construction companies under the National Housing Action Plan in Iran, Managing Director of the bank Mahmoud Shayan said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The director said that a total of 293,000 people are registered at the Bank Maskan under the National Housing Action Plan. About 194,000 of them have paid money for the plan. The amount paid is about 123 trillion rials (about $2.94 billion).
Shayan also added that about 56.3 trillion rials (about $1.34 billion) of the mentioned funds are in the Bank Maskan of Iran and are being paid to companies as construction progresses under the National Housing Action Plan.
Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is implementing the National Housing Action Plan. According to the plan, the heads of families must register and have deposits of 300 million rials (about $7,140) at the Bank Maskan of Iran.
