BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. The volume of open-pit mined mineral from the from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province, located in north-west of the country, increased by 31.5 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the plan, Head of the complex, Omid Fallah said, Trend reports.
Fallah noted that approximately 513,000 tons of minerals were extracted from the complex by open-pit method.
“Furthermore, about 82,000 tons of minerals were extracted from Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex by underground mining method in 6 months, which is 24 percent more than in the same period last year,” he added.
The director also pointed out that Anguran mining complex operates in order to provide raw materials for factories in Zanjan province and outside the province.
Reportedly, Iran’s Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex is operating under Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO).
