Global energy consulting company ESAI (Energy Security Analysis) predicts global oil demand growth at 1.1 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2013.
"Global oil demand is expected to grow by 1.1 million b/d, an estimate distinctly higher than IEA (International Energy Agency) or OPEC forecasts," ESAI Energy's report, obtained by Trend said.
According to the report, non-OPEC supply (including alternative liquids fuels) will grow by almost 1.2 million bpd.
ESAI Energy estimates that OPEC is currently producing very close to the estimated annual demand for their crude of roughly 30.3 million bpd.
"If OPEC can avoid significant increases in output by member countries, then the global balance should remain roughly in balance on an annual average basis," the report said.
According to the latest report of the IEA, global oil demand will increase by 820,000 bpd to 90.6 million bpd in 2013.
OPEC's March oil market report said that in February, 2013 total organization's oil production increased by 74,000 bpd to 30.31 million bpd. OPEC production, not including Iraq, in February averaged 27.25 million bpd which was slightly higher than in the previous month.
