The National Holding Company (NHC) Uzbekneftegaz finished accepting applications for participation in the tender for the intratubal diagnosis of Dengizkul-Mubarak gas pipeline, a source in the holding told Trend.
Dengizkul-Mubarak gas pipeline (pipe length is 97 kilometers and diameter is 1.02 meters) is used to supplying natural gas from the Khauzak-Shady field where Russian LUKOIL operates, on the Mubarek gas processing plant, where the clearing of methane from ethane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide is carried out.
The aim of the work is to conduct a comprehensive survey of the technical condition of longitudinally welded pipes by intratubal flaw detectors, as well as technical inspection of 11 shutoff globe valves.
The production sharing agreement on the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady block, which stipulates natural gas production in Uzbekistan's southwestern Bukhara-Khiva region, was signed between Lukoil and Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company in 2004 for a period of 35 years.
The Russian side owns 90 percent, while the Uzbek side has 10-percent share in the consortium of investors.
It should be noted that Kandym group includes six gas condensate fields - Kandym, Kuvachi-Alat, Akkum, Parsankul, Khoji and Western Khoji. The production at Khauzak site started in autumn 2007.
Lukoil has started the active phase of implementation of Kandym project in Uzbekistan. The first phase of the project is designed for production of 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Kuvachi-Alat field and the North Shady section of the Khauzak-Shady field and delivering gas to the Mubarek gas processing plant.
The project also includes the construction of the Kandym gas processing complex, which is Lukoil's largest investment project in Uzbekistan.
The investments in the project are estimated at more than $3 billion.
Currently, Lukoil is working in the country on implementation of three projects under the PSA - Kandym-Khauzak-Shady, the development of the fields in the south-western Hissar, and geological exploration of the Uzbek part of the Aral Sea as part of an international consortium.
By 2016, Lukoil plans to produce in Uzbekistan at least 18 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
As the company said, in 2014, the production at the fields in Uzbekistan amounted throughout the year to 4 billion cubic meters of gas and over 100,000 metric tons of liquid hydrocarbons.
