Kazakhstan will begin the restoration of units 4 and 5 of the Zhambyl State District Power Plant JSC (Zhambyl SDPP), Energy Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev said during his visit to Zhambyl region, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
According to the information, electricity consumption in the energy-deficient southern zone of the Unified Electric Power System (UES) of Kazakhstan increased by 12 percent this year.
It is noted that as consumption grows, 500 kV transit of Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) JSC gets overloaded in the North-South direction, as well as an imbalance in the generation and consumption of electricity.
In this regard, reserves from the Zhambyl SDPP are being commissioned.
Mirzagaliyev said that on October 30 of this year, the maximum tariffs for electric energy of Zhambyl SDPP were approved.
The system operator daily records deviations and violations from the daily schedule of electricity consumption by the subjects of the wholesale electricity market, including power transmission and power supply organizations.
In this regard, the Minister of Energy instructed KEGOC JSC, energy transmission and power supply organizations, together with the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control, to conduct an analysis by the end of the week and take all necessary measures to provide household consumers with uninterrupted power supply.
