During the quarantine period because of the spreading coronavirus infection, the State Tax Committee of Uzekistan stepped up work on the return of value added tax (VAT) as a result of the application of zero tax rate on exports of goods, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the committee.
The procedure for submitting documents and receiving a VAT refund has been simplified. Now the taxpayer applies for VAT refund directly to the committee without any intermediaries.
Removal of an additional barrier makes interaction easier: the taxpayer only needs to send an application in electronic form.
The duration of the review procedure has been reduced to three days. The composition of the working group dealing with this issue has also been expanded.
The total amount of VAT refund amounted to 263.2 billion soums ($27.1 million). Some 119 taxpayers received these funds from the state budget, the message said.
Applicants, whose tax reports revealed discrepancies, were given explanations on their correction. They have the right to resubmit the application for consideration.
