The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan returns VAT to enterprises, which apply zero tax rates for export of goods, Trend reports citing the press service of the committee.
Incoming appeals are considered by an expanded working group of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan within three days. When discrepancies are identified in tax reports, applicants are given explanations for their correction with the possibility of resubmission.
From March 15 through April 20, as a result of the application of zero tax rate on export of goods by the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, conclusions on 188 applications for VAT refund were sent to the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance. The total amount of VAT refund reached 358.3 billion soum ($35.2 million).
Business entities that received these funds continue their activities, purchase raw materials and pay salaries to employees.
Uzbekistan temporarily suspended the activities of 198,969 individual entrepreneurs out of 247,286 registered, which is almost 80.5 percent, the report says.
Earlier, Uzbekistan has introduced mitigating measures for taxpayers. For example, the terms for payment of a number of taxes have been extended, the right to deferral and installment has been granted, tax rates have been reduced, and penalties and fines have been suspended.
