Uzbekistan plans to implement the Safe City project in all regions the country during the period from 2019 through 2023, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications Development.
Currently, relevant departments and ministries together with the expert group of PWC international consulting company develop technical documents of the project (concept, main technical task, feasibility study).
At the first stage, in the period from 2019 through 2020, work in Tashkent to create a unified technological platform for the Safe City project with the involvement of foreign direct investment has being carried out.
“All short numbers of emergency services in Tashkent - 101, 102, 103, 104, 1050 and 1055 - will be united into a single center and work will be organized within the framework of a single service under the short number 112,” the message said.
A contract worth 11.3 million euros has been concluded as part of the project to introduce an automated road safety system in Tashkent province. As of July 1, 2020, $4.1 million of direct foreign investments have been spent to implement the project.
As part of the Safe City pilot project, 898 intelligent video surveillance systems were installed and put into operation in 142 social facilities in Tashkent's Shaykhantakhur district.
The authorities are in the process of selecting a partner company for the implementation of the photo and video systems for traffic violations recording as part of the project.
