Kazakh companies sign export contracts worth millions of dollars in Shanghai

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 7. Kazakh companies have signed three memorandums of cooperation and 15 export contracts totaling $74 million as part of the EXPO in Shanghai (China), Trend reports.

Kazakhstan's commodity producers have committed to deliver fat and oil products, milk powder, honey, and feed grain to Chinese partners.

Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration, witnessed the signing of the documents.

Kazakhstan, as Shakkaliyev pointed out, ensures the delivery of high-quality environmentally friendly products.

Shanghai will host the China International Import Expo (CIIE) from November 5 to 10, 2023. A variety of enterprises' products are on display at the Kazakhstan business booth.

Kazakhstan's trade turnover with China reached $24.1 billion in 2022, up 34.1 percent from the previous year.

Exports from Kazakhstan increased over the year by 34.7 percent, to $13.2 billion. The share of Kazakhstan's exports to China accounted for a significant 15.6 percent of the country's total trade turnover.

Imports from China to Kazakhstan grew by 33.5 percent over the year, to $11 billion. China's share in the structure of imports of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 21.9 percent.
