ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 28. Kazakhstan and Finland's potential for investment and trade remains far from exhausted, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during a meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Astana, Trend reports via Akorda.

“Your visit is of particular significance—it’s a vital and, in many ways, groundbreaking event that will give a new boost to the development of our bilateral relations. Kazakhstan and Finland have built a strong tradition of friendship and mutual cooperation, and we have no unresolved issues,” Tokayev stated.

He drove home the significance of the upcoming Kazakhstan-Finland business forum, which he believes will light a fire under entrepreneurs from both countries to forge stronger business ties.

“Moreover, we maintain strong humanitarian contacts. Finland enjoys great popularity in Kazakhstan, and our people hold your country, its culture, and traditions in high regard,” Tokayev added.

He also observed that a significant demographic of Kazakhstani travelers exhibits a propensity for engaging in tourism within the Finnish territory.

In turn, Finland's president highlighted that the talks are focused on two main areas, the first being the development of bilateral relations and business cooperation. He pointed out that he was accompanied by a large business delegation, including representatives from over 20 leading Finnish companies.

“The second area of discussion is foreign policy and security matters. We share many common interests and are committed to finding solutions to complex issues,” Stubb remarked.

On October 28, President of Finland Alexander Stubb embarked on an official diplomatic mission to Kazakhstan. Engagements between the two Heads of State center on the intricacies of bilateral dynamics between Finland and Kazakhstan, the geopolitical landscape and its ramifications for the European and Central Asian spheres, and collaborative efforts to bolster the multilateral framework.
