Uzbekistan, France agreed on deepening interaction and organizing a presentation of Uzbekistan's potential in the textile industry for the members of the French Textile Industry Union, Trend reports referring to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.
The ambassador of Uzbekistan in France Sardor Rustambayev met with the president of Deveaux group of French companies Lucien Deveaux to discuss the possibility of increasing the volume of imports of Uzbek textile products to France.
The French side was informed that a special system of preferences of the European Union for sustainable development and effective management (GSP +) was opened for Uzbekistan, to which Uzbekistan was admitted as a beneficiary country under the General Scheme of Preferences.
Deveaux noted that obtaining the GSP + status of the beneficiary will create a basis for domestic manufacturers-exporters of textile products, which will subsequently ensure sustainable growth and diversification of the range of export products.
Also, it was emphasized that attracting new investments in combination with effective management, the introduction of modern equipment and technologies are the most important factors in the development of the textile and clothing industry in Uzbekistan and contribute to an increase in its export potential.
In addition, the president of Deveaux group confirmed his readiness to continue cooperating with Uzbekistan, while expressing interest in establishing business relations with domestic suppliers who work with European buyers and have the necessary certification to enter the French market.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on deepening interaction and organizing a presentation of the republic's potential in the textile industry for the members of the Union of the French Textile Industry.
