BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. Spanish Intecsa Ingeniería Industrial S.A. is providing the best engineering services for the construction of a power plant in Uzbekistan, a source from the company told Trend.
“Intecsa Industrial is honored to be working for our customer, Talimarjan TPP JSC, by building a new power plant in Uzbekistan. It is a thermal power plant comprised of two combined cycle units with an overall capacity of over 1 GW,” the source said.
According to the source, the power plant incorporates state-of-the-art technology, which includes the most advanced technology in gas and steam turbines and heat recovery steam generators. Therefore, the highest efficiency rates in gas power generation are guaranteed for the country.
“Intecsa is very interested in the new power developments that are being developed in the country, especially in those projects related to green energy, for example, green ammonia. We closely follow the green projects and hope that they may be implemented soon. We firmly believe that Uzbekistan could be an important hub for this type of promising technology and products and will be glad to support the country with our engineering knowledge,” the source added.
Meanwhile, within the framework of the investment project at Talimarjan TPP in Uzbekistan, construction of combined cycle gas turbines with a total capacity of 1,065 MW continues.
The general contractors of the project are the Spanish Intecsa Ingeniería Industrial S.A. company and the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation company. Specialists of the Turkish Çalik Enerji company are also involved in construction work.
After the commissioning of these combined cycle plants, which are planned to be connected to Uzbekistan's unified energy system in 2025, the plant will generate an additional 8.5 billion kWh of electricity per year. Due to the use of highly efficient technologies, it is expected to save 600 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
