BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. Iran's product imports from Turkmenistan decreased by 35 percent in value and 41 percent in weight during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Customs Administration shows that Iran's imports of products from Turkmenistan amounted to 9,850 tons worth about $12.3 million during the six months.
However, the statistics indicate that during the same period last year, Iran's imports of products from Turkmenistan amounted to 16,800 tons worth $18.9 million.
Meanwhile, information adds that petroleum coke, cotton, fabric, and other products are imported by Iran from Turkmenistan.
Iran imported non-oil products worth $32.6 billion during the mentioned period.
To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing products that are necessary for the country and imposes certain restrictions on imports of products manufactured in the country.
