BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. The point-to-point inflation in Iran's industrial production in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (from January 20, trough February 18, 2025) has risen by 9.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (from January 21, trough February 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Statistical Center of Iran indicates that in terms of point-to-point inflation, the inflation in the industrial sector has reached 46.5 percent. In other words, the average price that industrial producers received for producing goods domestically increased by 46.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, the price index for the 11th month stood at 1586.7.
Point-to-point inflation refers to the percentage change in the price index compared to the same period in the previous year.
The highest inflation increase in the 11th month was observed in chemicals and chemical products, which saw a 64.9 percent rise.
The report also states that the monthly inflation in the 11th month increased by 3.1 percent compared to the 10th month of the current year (from December 21, 2024, trough January 19, 2025), reaching 8.4 percent.
Monthly inflation refers to the percentage change in the price index compared to the previous month.
The most significant increase was recorded in petroleum products and coke, which saw a rise of 21.7 percent.
At the end of the 11th month, the annual inflation (from February 20, 2024, trough February 18, 2025) compared to the previous period (from February 20, 2023, trough February 19, 2024) stood at 26.6 percent.
Annual inflation refers to the average percentage change in the price index over the past year.
The report also notes that the highest annual inflation increase was observed in electricity supply production, which rose by 38.5 percent.
