Some 11,500 tons of cement worth $322,000 were exported to the UAE from Iran’s Qeshm Island, Hormoz Amiri, director of the Customs and Transit Department of Iran’s Qeshm Free Trade Zone, told IRNA, Trend reports.
He said that this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), nine trucks for cement export were sent to different countries.
He noted that nine cargoes of 150,000 tons of cement and clinker, totaling $4.27 million, were exported to the UAE, Ghana, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
The Qeshm Cement Company was established in 2000. For the time of its operation, its products were exported to 13 Asian and African countries, including Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Oman, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan.
There are 204 industrial companies operating on the Qeshm Island with investments worth 14 trillion rials (about $335 million).
