Georgia’s public foreign debt in September 2021 amounted to $7.9 billion, which is an increase of 17.9 percent, compared to $6.7 billion over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
However, the volume of the foreign debt of Georgia in September 2021 has decreased by $72.1 million, compared to $8 billion in August 2021.
According to the Finance Ministry’s report, the foreign debt of the Georgian government in September 2021 amounted to $7.5 billion.
Multilateral foreign debt of Georgia in September 2021 amounted to $5.4 billion of the total government debt, while the volume of bilateral debt over the same period was $1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, the foreign debt of the National Bank of Georgian to the International Monetary Fund totaled $474.7 million.
TOP-5 largest creditors to Georgia as of Sept. 2021:
Asian Development Bank – $1.7 billion;
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – $1.1 billion;
European Investment Bank – $846 million;
International Development Association – $848.2 million;
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – $236.5 million.
